Do you believe in the brilliance and potential of Black girls and women? Are you passionate about creating opportunities and breaking down barriers? Do you have the leadership skills to turn vision into impactful action? If so, The Nia Project wants YOU!
At The Nia Project, our mission is clear: to champion success for Black girls and women! We're dedicated to reducing obstacles and providing the extra support needed to ensure we thrive. We envision a world where each of us has enough – enough opportunity, enough confidence, and enough support to reach our full potential.
We're looking for a dynamic and dedicated Program Director to lead this exciting initiative. The Program Director will be the driving force behind helping to create and offer programs that uplift and empower Black girls and women in our community and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference and shape the future!
What You'll Be Doing: As our Program Director, you'll be the heart of our program efforts. You will:
Dream Big & Build Programs: Help to design and bring to life creative and culturally relevant programs, especially for our amazing Black girls in middle and high school. Programs will tackle everything from building confidence and leadership skills to exploring health, culture, and making positive choices. Lead with Passion: Guide and inspire young people, creating a safe and encouraging space for them to learn and grow. You'll be a mentor, a facilitator, and a champion for their potential. You will also provide leadership to volunteers. Connect Our Community: Build strong relationships with parents, schools, community groups, and local businesses to make our programs even stronger and reach more young women. Make it Happen: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our programs, manage budgets, and ensure everything runs smoothly and effectively. Shine Bright in the Summer: A unique aspect of our program is the Beloved Boutique! During the summer, you will provide operating oversight and introduce girls to entrepreneurship and critical skills needed to be successful as part of any workforce. Tell Our Story: Track our progress, measure our impact, and share our successes with the community.
What You'll Bring to the Nia Project: You have a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Education, Social Work, Business, etc.) or equivalent work experience. You're a natural leader with excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience in a retail environment is a HUGE plus – especially if you've managed a store before! You're tech-savvy and comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and ideally even Canva, HTML, and Mailchimp. You have at least 2 years of experience planning and running engaging programs for youth. More importantly, you have a deep passion for empowering Black girls and women and a strong commitment to our mission. Why Join The Nia Project? This isn't just a job – it's a chance to be part of a movement. You'll: Make a Real Impact: Directly contribute to the growth and success of Black girls and women in our community. Be a Leader: Shape the direction of our programs and inspire others with your vision. Work with Passionate People: Join a team that is deeply committed to our mission and values. Grow Professionally: Develop your skills in program management, leadership, and community engagement. Potentially blend your passion for youth development with your retail experience in a unique way!
